You can obtain public records on the inmate you are writing by visiting the links below. In most states, a search for the inmate can be conducted online to give you all public records concerning the inmate and the crime for which they are incarcerated. In many states, you can find photos of the inmate. We require our members to list the crime for which they are incarcerated and their actual photos. If you find an inmate on our website who has placed a false photo, or false information, please let us know. If you choose to e-mail them, please do not be vague. They will not respond if you do not provided adequate information. Also, be sure to include your own contact information. For Federal inmates released before 1982, please write to: Office of Communications and Archives Please include as much identifying information as possible - name, including middle name/initial if known, aliases, date of birth, race, crime, approximate dates in prison, name of prison, etc. The more information you provide, the more quickly the request can be processed.
